چکیده

The aggregation and adsorption of asphaltenes in dilute solutions has been extensively studied is now well established. At low concentrations, are mainly found the form aggregates approximately 3 nm size. One strategy to simplify study these systems fractionate into subfractions called A1 A2. nature subfraction aggregates, their behavior with concentration interaction other surfaces remain under debate. This work presents experimental results on A2 onto SiO2 nanoparticles from rice husks (RH-SiO2), evidence allows us infer that equilibrium solution over a wide range concentrations. size distribution for each does not change dilution but sensitive solvent media. Subfraction very similar asphaltenes, while tends larger aggregates. Larger more likely adsorb than small According results, different solvents can be as phase phenomenon, where aggregate considered partially immiscible solvent. theoretical principles described, hypothesis elaborated terms.

Aggregation and solubility behavior of asphaltenes and their subfractions.

Asphaltenes from four different crude oils (Arab Heavy, B6, Canadon Seco, and Hondo) were fractionated in mixtures of heptane and toluene and analyzed chemically, by vapor pressure osmometry (VPO), and by small angle neutron scattering (SANS). Solubility profiles of the asphaltenes and their subfractions indicated strong cooperative asphaltene interactions of a particular subfraction that is po...

Aggregate Size Dependence of Amyloid Adsorption onto Charged Interfaces

Amyloid aggregates are associated with a range of human neurodegenerative disorders, and it has been shown that neurotoxicity is dependent on aggregate size. Combining molecular simulation with analytical theory, a predictive model is proposed for the adsorption of amyloid aggregates onto oppositely charged surfaces, where the interaction is governed by an interplay between electrostatic attrac...

Effect of water on deposition, aggregate size, and viscosity of asphaltenes.

The aggregation and structure of polar molecules in nonpolar media may have a profound effect on bulk phase properties and transport. In this study, we investigate the aggregation and deposition of water and asphaltenes, the most polar fraction in petroleum fluids. In flow-line experiments, we vary the concentration of water from 500 up to 175,000 ppm and provide the evidence for clear changes ...
